Medical Pearls from the Internet Medical Association


The American Academy of Pediatrics updated their policy on marijuana in children and recommend that: a) marijuana not be used in people < 21y old; b) there are potential medical marijuana indications, but these should be regulated by the FDA; c) marijuana for recreational use not be legalized; d) changing marijuana from a DEA Schedule I to Schedule II to help enable more medical research on cannabinoids; e) in states where marijuana has been legalized, to regulate it similar to tobacco and alcohol to help prevent use by minors, and to research the impact of legalization on minors; f) they strongly support decriminalization of marijuana.
