Screening asymptomatic diabetics with coronary cardiac CT angiography did not improve mortality or morbidity during a 4-yr follow-up period.

Comment: This is consistent with a large body of research showing that screening asymptomatic people for coronary artery disease with imaging studies is for the most part not effective. It seems prudent at this point to aggressively engage in risk factor reduction for all patients, and do imaging only when symptomatic.
