BRUGADA SYNDROME: cardiac conduction arrhythmia, often asymptomatic that, increases risk of sudden death. Only known treatment is an implantable cardiac defibrillator. Mean age of sudden death is 41 yrs. More frequent in men, esp. Southeast Asian. Etiology is a mutation in the cardiac sodium channel gene.
